Timmy 快上课了却困得睁不开眼——昨晚打游戏一直打到半夜。朋友问他是不是熬夜了，他承认"是，游戏太好玩了停不下来"。朋友说熬夜伤身体，他也知道错了。朋友劝他：想当游戏高手也得多睡觉，要珍惜时间，别整夜打游戏浪费掉。Timmy 下决心：从现在起，我要做时间的主人！

爸爸理解：so…that… = "太……以至于……"；master of time = 时间的主人（说了算的人）；stay up（熬夜）、sleepy（困）、health（健康）、waste（浪费）都是旧词新用。

① 先夸（2分钟）：念她上节课的 2 个高光（33词/分钟历史最高；but 22词长句），具体夸了再开始。 ② 角色扮演（5分钟）：你演妈妈，她演 Sam（课本 p.22 原题）："Sam, did you stay up too late last night? You look sleepy." 道具：遥控器当游戏机，先打个大哈欠。 ③ th 发音操（3分钟）：照镜子 thirty / think / month，舌头露出来；陷阱：缩回去就变 sirty / mouse / sink。 ④ so…that… 合成（5分钟）：你给两句事实，她合成一句；再让她说 2 句自己的事（课后录音保存）。 如果她不说话了：先等 5 秒；why 问题先给示范答案（"I cherish my teddy bear because it's so soft."）；开放题换选择题；只给句子开头让她接；打哈欠演 sleepy、功夫动作演 master——动起来就会开口。 三原则：说对→具体夸；卡住→你先说一遍让她跟；不说"错"，只开心地把正确句子重说一遍（recast）。

多义词小故事（固定栏目）

master：主人 / 大师 / 硕士——其实都是"说了算的人"。来自拉丁语 magister（老师、掌控者）。时间的主人（master of time）= 时间听你的；功夫大师（kung fu master，课本 p.8）= 功夫听他的；硕士（master's degree）= 学问上说了算的人。记住：master 就是"说了算的人"！
